Large Herbivore Foundation
The Large Herbivore Foundation (LHF) is a nature conservation and- restoration program for large plant eating mammals and their habitats in Eurasia. The LHF program is involved with over 45 species of large herbivores. Under the program some 30 projects are addressed throughout Europe, Russia, Mongolia and Central Asia. These projects deal with a great variety of activities all meant to protect the large herbivore species and restore their ecological role within their original ranges. LHF is aiming for its conservation objectives at situations, where people value the benefits of ecosystems and landscapes inhabited by viable populations of all the region's large herbivores, living in the wild.
